The large Queen Anne-style home at 655 11th Street was constructed in 1912. The exterior features a hipped roof, decorative gables, flared wide eaves, and a pent extension. The design also offers flared walls, a pediment, and a decorative shingle belt. Display and double-hung windows are complimented by decorative voussoirs, fan lights, and palladian detailing. The home’s first owner was farmer Alfred O’Neill.

The most dramatic period of expansion on Brandon's built environment took place in the years 1900 to the beginning of the Great War in 1914. The population went from a modest 5,000 to 14,000.This population increase sparked a construction boom resulting in over 250 buildings being built in 1904 alone!
